experience only occasional frost and snow during winter. Summers in Denmark,
Sweden, Norway and Finland are pleasantly warm.
Viking Age forms a major part of the medieval history of Scandinavia. These warriors
called Vikings were explorers, merchants and pirates who used famed longships and
colonized wide areas of Europe from the late eighth to the early eleventh century.
